Reliving Old Times & starting New Times One Step at a Time. (& Lego Dinos)

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of re-meeting a playwright I first met and worked with over 10 years ago; all with the power of Zoom. They were across the other side of the world, but we chatted about plays, film making, books, politics, life and their current plans for a play. Yes, I hope in the future to tell you more about their play, but for now the background work is continuing.

I know “contractually” I’m meant to constantly do the PR / Marketing of my career- it’s the bright and shiny demands of being in the Arts, but realistically that not always possible. The truth is a lot of what I do is in the shadows and can only be brought to the light when it’s entirely ready. So yes, I’m currently in post production of a short film directed in November of 2025, I’m sweating buckets as I write pitches for shows that may or may not happen and missing making live theatre badly. I’m obviously not a natural blogger but when I have something to show, I promise to share.

On a completely unrelated note, Reading had Lego Dino Trail over the summer and it made me very happy. So here’s a few photos of it.

Roll up, Roll up, Everything Must Go!!

Today is maybe the second day of not raining in 2026, yet I’m choosing to spend some of it writing a mini blog. Yes, you’re so lucky. 😅Our Mockmumentary short film, Everything Must Go -about a multigenerational shop on its last day- has now officially finished its festival run. It got selected for Portsmouth Shorts::Cut Film Festival and I went on 19th of October of last year to see it on the big screen and to watch the other selection on a lovely local festival that’s been going since 2005.

But now the run is finished so now you’re all able to watch it. It’s was a joy to make – even if I was forced into a cameo. Who forced me, you ask? Me because the director (me) needed another actor, so…Luckily, there far more talented actors in it than me and I’m glad they got to show off their skills.

Please feel free to watch & share.

Control…not just something I’m trying to gain but also a film

I said on my last blog, that I started making films and now, I’m about to start my forth short film- Control. This one isn’t a theatre piece reimagined. It’s just a film. A Sci-Fi film at that and our Table read is today – in less than 2 hours time. I always enjoy the first time the cast gets together and we hear the words out loud and I start to properly imagine the world I’m creating. This time it’s in SPACE!

It’ll be available from April 16th 2021. Nope- I’m not telling you more- you’ll just have to watch it when it’s out.
